My name is Abbie, and for more than twenty years I have worked alongside young children, learning from them and supporting the ways they explore the world. For eleven of those years, I taught at the Experiential School at Shorecrest, where I worked with exceptional educators and saw daily how capable children are when they are given time, trust, and meaningful work. A visit to the Boulder Journey School further shaped my understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach and affirmed my belief in children as curious, competent, and deserving of being heard. Through my work with families, I have also partnered closely with parents to support children’s development through play.

Becoming a mother clarified what matters most to me: children deserve a slow and protected childhood, safe and responsive adults, and environments that inspire curiosity and belonging. The Grove was created from that belief. A space intentionally designed to support how young children grow, explore, and feel at home.
